Ange Postecoglou Tottenham revolution is in full swing this season. The Australian joined the north London club last summer after winning a domestic treble with Scottish side Celtic. His bold and progressive style of play have made Tottenham one of the most aesthetically pleasing teams to watch in world Football. Before Postecoglou’s arrival in the spurs dugout, the club fans had become accustomed to watching their team play boring and ultra-conservative football under the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.
Ange made an instant impact and players soon acclimatised to his ideas without any reservations. The club also made the right moves in the summer transfer window. The acquisition of Guglielmo Vicario (GK),James Maddison (AMF), Pedro Porro (RB),Brennan Johnson (RW) and Micky van de Ven(CB) worked very well for the club.
The mid-season injuries to top performers James Maddison and Micky van de Ven proved to be a death blow to Tottenham’s title challenge. Now they are are competing with Aston Villa for UEFA Champions League place. To achieve that their best players have to be in full flow.

Son Heung Min (Striker,Tottenham)
Son Heung Min has been a great servant for the club since he joined 9 years ago from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen. Son formed one of the deadliest strike-partnership in Premiere League history with club legend Harry Kane. Last summer Kane made his long over-due transfer and joined Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. After his departure, Postecoglou appointed Son the captain of the side.
Last season Son was not quite at the top of his game. He only scored 10 goals and assisted six in 36 league games. These are not great numbers for a player of his caliber. He was one of the many under-performers in the team.As a result spurs suffered and finished 8th in the league table.
This season the South Korean is the main man at Tottenham and he is performing the role with aplomb. He is in fine form for Tottenham this season. Son has scored 15 goals and have provided 8 assists in 29 Premiere League games so far. His influence on this Tottenham side is beyond stats. His work rate and defensive contributions are also important. Son has to be at his brilliant best to steer his team to Champions League qualification.
James Maddison (AMF,Tottenham)
England international James Maddison joined spurs last summer from relegated Leicester City. Maddison had a successful spell at the club and he deserved a chance to test his abilities at a bigger club. Tottenham paid GBP 40 million for his services. Maddison has proven to be a bargain buy with his impact-ful performances. He has become the creator-in-chief at his new club in a very short span of time.
Maddison’s untimely knee injury dented his team,s title charge badly. He has missed 10 Premiere League games through injury. In 22 league games for spurs so far, maddison has scored four goals and lay on a plate for his team mates 7 times. The 27 years old Englishman has also created 52 chances and 9 big chances. These are very impressive numbers.
A fully fit Maddison is very important member of this emerging Tottenham team. Ange Postecoglou considers him a vital cog in his Tottenham machine.
Micky van de Ven (CB,Tottenham)
Last summer spurs acquired the services of Dutch center back Micky van de Ven from wolfsburg in a deal worth GBP 43 million . The towering defender became an instant hit at his new club. Van de ven vastly improved spurs’ leaky defense that was gifting goals to everyone and sundry last season. The combination of pace and strength makes him a striker’s nightmare.
The Dutchman was recorded as the fastest defender in the Bundesliga last season. His recovery speed allows Postecoglou to play a very high line. Van de ven’s partnership with Cristian Romero at the heart of the tottenham defense provides solidity and stability that frees up the midfielders to take part in the offensive side of the game without worrying much about the defense.
Micky missed a big chunk of the season due to a hamstring injury. Tottenham could not cope with his absence properly and ended up losing momentum in the title race. Now they are fighting for a Champions League place next season. Van de ven is irreplaceable. In 21 league appearances so far,Micky has attempted 40 tackles with 70% success rate. He has also made 57 clearances. His passing from the back is also very important. He has played 32 accurate long balls. Tottenham has found a defender who has the ability to become one of the best CB in the world.
