Plato’s Ideal State (Statesman

Bruno Fernandes (AMF,Manchester United)

The Portuguese gem joined the Red Devils in January 2020 from Sporting CP and has since become the main man and the captain of the club. Fernandes divides the neutrals’ opinions because of his dark arts on the pitch. But when football is at his feet he is a joy to watch. The 29 years old is the creative hub of his team.Although Fernandes often loses possession but He never shies away from playing high risk high reward passes.

Despite Manchester United playing some of their worst football this season, the Porto born midfielder is in form of his life. He has created the most chances (108 so far) in the Premiere League this season. He has also scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists in 45 games in all competitions for his club. Without Fernandes,United would have been languishing in the bottom half of the league table.

Fernandes needs to work on his temperament. When things do not go his way he tends to get frustrated and loses his mind. He shouts at his team mates and blames them for his own wrong-doings. As the captain and leader at the club of Manchester United stature,Bruno must behave better. No doubt he is one of the best midfielders in the world but he should work on leadership side of his game too.

Kobbie Mainoo (Midfielder,Manchester United)

The United academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo has been a revelation since he made his Premiere League debut in November 2023 against Everton. Kobbie was awarded the man of the match award for his brilliant debut performance.Since then he has gone from strength to strength.

The 19 years old has acclimatized to elite football just like a duck to water. Mainoo is mature beyond his age. He has made the holding midfield position his own in the matter of few months.

Mainoo has also chipped in with some important goals. In February He scored a 97th minute winner against Wolverhampton Wanderers. He also scored a screamer against Liverpool in 2-2 draw last month.

In Mainoo,Manchester United have found a potential midfield maestro who is capable of playing the starring role for the club in next decade or so.

Alejandro Garnacho (Attacker, Manchester United)

The Argentine dynamite joined Manchester United in 2020 from Atletico Madrid. Garnacho made the grade to first team last season and impressed everyone with his scintillating skills.

This season is the breakout year for Garnacho. He has performed admirably in a bruised and battered United team. The 19 years old youth prodigy has played 46 times for his club and scored 9 goals and provided 5 assists. He has also created 6 big chances for his team mates. His goal-scoring numbers would have been even better had he not missed 6 big chances himself.

Garnacho is very young and inexperienced. He is still learning his trade. He will make mistakes during this process. On the evidence of his displays this season,We can safely assert that the winger has the potential to become one of the best wingers in the world. Good coaching and grooming will play vital role in his development. United should do everything possible to provide the ideal environment for Garnacho to flourish.
